Sonar Bangla Haat Dokra Art Figurine is a product of one of India’s oldest and most celebrated metal-casting traditions ? the Dokra craft of West Bengal, practiced by tribal artisans using the ancient lost-wax (cire perdue) technique for over 4,000 years. Each Dokra figurine, whether depicting a deity, an elephant, a folk musician, or an animal, is individually hand-crafted: a wax model is made, coated in clay, and then molten brass is poured in to replace the wax, creating a unique piece that can never be exactly replicated.
